William S. Burroughs' novel was published in 1985, but was originally written between the years of 1951 and 1953, according to Deadline. 
Queer was penned as a sequel to Burroughs' book, Junkie, which was published in 1953.  
The screenplay will be written by playwright, Justin Kuritzkes, who also wrote the script for Luca Guadagnino's upcoming sports comedy called, Challengers, starring Zendaya. 
Talented filmmaker: Luca Guadagnino has worked on past projects such as Call Me By Your Name; seen earlier this month in December in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia 
Luca has been attached to previous projects such as the film, Call Me By Your Name (2017), which followed the premise of a romance  
He notably starred in a grand total of five films as the iconic spy beginning in 2006, with the character being killed off in, No Time To Die (2021).  
'I was driving away from the Berlin premiere of Casino Royale with Barbara Broccoli,' the talented actor had recalled, referencing to the producer of the rebooted franchise.

After asking the producer how many Bond films he would most likely take part in, he asked Barbara the big question, 'Then can I kill him off?' She said, ‘Yes.' 
After filming his fifth movie in the beloved franchise, he expressed, 'This is it. I don't want to do any more.' 
During an interview with last year in December 2021, Daniel further brushed on the topic of making the decision to kill off his version of Bond, the first time it had been portrayed on the big screen. 
'It's the only way I could see for myself to end it all and to make it like that was my tenure, someone else could come and take over,' he informed the publication. 
In regards to who could possibly step into the shoes of Bond has yet to be revealed. However, recently reported that Bullet Train actor, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, had taken a screen test for role.
